WELCOME TO THE LAKES ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATION

Protecting the waters and watersheds in the Greater Sebago Lake Region

We are a nonprofit organization guarding against the destructive impact of harmful human behaviors on lakes. Through action, advocacy, and scientific analysis, we protect the economic, recreational, and environmental value of clean water for future generations.

    Action

    We minimize the spread of invasive aquatic species through prevention and removal. We partner with organizations, landowners, developers, and municipalities to reduce erosion and improve stormwater control to protect our waters.

  • Advocacy

    Advocacy

    We promote water-friendly behaviors through public workshops, classroom curriculums, and landowner programs. We support responsible public policy through the legislative process at the local, state, and federal levels.

  • Analysis

    Analysis

    We conduct year-round water monitoring and share trends and data with other organizations and agencies. We use cutting-edge technology at our Science Center and work with researchers and the public to better understand our lakes and freshwaters.
